High specification laser cutting specialists, TS Metals in Rugby have recently added a new MSS Nitrocube high pressure nitrogen generation system to their laser cutting operation.
Having used a liquid nitrogen gas system to supply their fibre laser previously, TS Metals decided that they would benefit from the economy and convenience of an MSS Nitrocube system.
Valter Bras, Laser Operations Manager at TS Metals, comments ‘MSS were able to demonstrate to us an excellent understanding of our nitrogen cutting gas costs from early enquiry stage and this expertise has continued through to the successful installation and operation of our new Nitrocube system’.
Valter continues: 'when we reviewed the cost analysis from MSS, the potential economic benefits were too significant to ignore. Since the system was installed, the numbers have aligned, and we are already making solid progress toward the projected cost savings.'
MSS Sales Director, Chris Smith commented:
‘TS Metals needed a super high purity and reliable gas supply that also gives them spare capacity to future proof them for future laser equipment upgrades; the Nitrocube 2 system with extended high-pressure storage met their requirements very well. This model is extremely powerful for the floor space required taking up only 2.2x2.4m with stackable high pressure gas storage cylinders taking up less than 2x2m square space’.
The Nitrocube 2 system supplied provides high pressure nitrogen at 20m3/hour flow and 99.999% purity (Grade 5.0) which is ideal for high quality laser cutting, especially for thicker stainless steel. The system features 576m3 of storage at 300 bar pressure. All the latest generation MSS Nitrogen systems use the very best components available today which combine to make each system super-efficient. Typically using 25-40% less energy to generate higher purity nitrogen than other systems available and saving 2-3 times the cost of bulk liquid nitrogen and significantly more than that for cylinder bank users. The system also features MSS Groups' unique touch screen control panel that allows remote system performance and status monitoring.
Valter adds, "With the installation of the MSS Nitrocube right next to our laser system, we've been able to decommission our ageing bulk liquid tank and extensive piping system, freeing up a significant amount of space at our facility."
