Mechanical Fitter Apprentice


As a Mechanical Apprentice, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems in a variety of environments. You will be working with pipework, valves, pumps, actuators, fans, gearboxes and access covers. Ensuring safety is a core part of your responsibilities, and you must adhere to safe working practices to protect yourselves and others. We will provide opportunities to work around the business on different projects, allowing you to build on your relationships and experience within the business and industry.

 

Responsibilities:

The role will offer the individual to get involved in all aspects of mechanical engineering processes within the Utilities industry. You will be required to attend lectures, practical workshops, and visits as per training provider learning plan.

 

Your Key Responsibilities & Accountability on completion of apprenticeship include:

 

  • Plan, prepare and install a range of mechanical equipment.
  • Complete fault-finding on a range of mechanical equipment.
  • Understand and apply mechanical engineering principles.
  • Follow work instructions and drawings to complete work to a high standard.
  • Follow our company health and safety rules and ensure compliance with all processes and procedures.

 

Qualification Level: Level 3

 

Who we want:

To be successful for the apprenticeship with Quartzelec, candidates will need to have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at Grade C/5 minimum including mathematics, English and Science.

 

The successful candidates will be required to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship in with Quartzelec starting in September 2026. Studies will include day release to a local training provider for 42-months.

 

Accommodation via the University can be provided and covered by Quartzelec if required during block release.

 

Typical Duration: 42 months.
