Heavy Duty Generator Sales Leader


The Opportunity

We are looking to recruit an experienced Heavy Duty Generator Sales Leader to drive growth across utility-scale generators and motors within industrial, thermal, and hydro power generation sectors. This is a senior commercial role with full ownership of opportunity development, technical solution definition, tendering, and contract negotiation. Working closely with Quartzelec’s engineering and field service teams, you will develop compliant, profitable solutions covering inspections, repairs, rewinds, uprates, retrofits, and excitation modernisation—supported by performance guarantees. You will also play a key role in generating new business for Quartzelec’s Rotating Machines and High Voltage Maintenance business units, while maintaining and expanding an established customer base.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a sales plan aligned with business objectives and market demand
  • Manage an assigned territory targeting large HV generators and motors (>30MW)
  • Own and develop key accounts within industrial and power generation sectors
  • Proactively identify new opportunities through cold calling and market engagement
  • Increase revenue within existing accounts through upselling repairs, retrofits, and modernisation services
  • Identify and develop new opportunities in thermal and hydro power generation markets
  • Lead technical and commercial proposals from RFQ to contract award
  • Prepare Scopes of Work, compliance matrices, and risk assessments
  • Develop and submit detailed tenders and quotations for inspections, repairs, rewinds, uprates, and excitation systems
  • Conduct site surveys to assess generator condition and technical requirements
  • Maintain an accurate CRM and sales pipeline for large HV rotating machines
  • Compile and present sales reports, including pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Deliver against agreed revenue growth and project performance targets

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Strong technical background in large HV generators and motors
  • Experience in rotating machines and HV maintenance environments
  • Understanding of statutory electrical compliance for utility-scale power (>30MW)
  • Proven success in technical sales and complex bid management
  • Confident communicator from boardroom to turbine hall
  • Commercially focused, analytical, and results driven
  • Ideal backgrounds include: OEM experience, field engineering, generator specialists, maintenance managers, owner’s engineers, or senior sales roles within industrial generators.
