We are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to act as the fully accountable financial owner of Quartzelec Sdn Bhd. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for financial control, reporting, governance, and statutory compliance for the Malaysian business. Working closely with the General Manager and leadership team, you will provide decision-ready financial insight, ensuring management has continuous visibility of performance, risks, and cash position.The role exists to ensure financial governance is actively enforced, business continuity is protected, and financial knowledge is robustly documented rather than person-dependent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver the full monthly financial reporting cycle, producing accurate, timely, and analytically robust management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning in support of business objectives and commercial decision-making
- Prepare, review, and maintain complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all general ledger accounts
- Proactively advise the General Manager and leadership team on financial risks, opportunities, and operational impacts
- Own and coordinate the year-end financial close, including statutory accounts, tax and deferred tax computations, and audit management
- Deliver all Group reporting requirements in line with Group Finance timelines, standards, and escalation protocols
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian financial reporting standards (MFRS), Companies Act requirements, tax regulations, and licensing obligations
- Lead structured monthly contract and project financial reviews with management and operations
- Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, and cash flow, with regular review of ageing, exceptions, and risks
- Own payroll governance and manage relationships with third-party payroll providers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and reconciliation
- Act as an authorised bank signatory and manage routine banking matters in line with approved mandates
- Maintain strong internal controls, identify emerging financial risks, and recommend corrective actions
- Establish and maintain clear, audit-ready financial documentation to support governance and business continuity
- Manage, develop, and coach finance staff as the business grows, setting clear expectations and accountability
Your skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; ACCA, CPA, or similar professional qualification required
- Strong experience in financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, and balance sheet control
- Up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS), Companies Act, and tax regulations
- Experience working in a project-based, service, engineering, or industrial environment
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to translate financial data into clear business insight
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced functions, data analysis) and Office 365
- Experience with ERP and integrated financial systems
- Confident, credible communicator with senior management, auditors, and external stakeholders
- Structured, disciplined, and proactive working style with a high level of personal accountability
